Stäubli International AG li was founded in Horgen, Switzerland, in 1892 and now employs more than 6,000 people worldwide in the field of industrial mechatronics solutions. It is particularly strong in four business areas: electrical connectors, fluid connectors, robotics and textiles.

Stäubli's solar market activities are mainly related to the electrical connectors business: the company developed the "Original MC4" connector family, which has now become the industry standard for DC-side conductor connections in photovoltaic (PV) system installations. Stäubli offers eBOS (electrical Balance Of System) solutions that help ensure the long-term safe and reliable operation of PV systems - according to the company, its connectors have connected more than 1,000 GW worldwide. Industrial quality, reliability and long-term support are key to Stäubli's philosophy. This is reflected in the more than 2,200 patents registered and pending.

In addition to PV-side solutions, the company is also strong in other industrial areas (e.g. robotics, quick changers, automation), which shows that it does not only deal with a narrow sub-unit, but has a broad engineering background and global presence.
