Fire isolators
Fire isolators are a key safety element in the electrical protection of solar systems. Their function is to quickly disconnect the direct current (DC) line between the solar panels and the inverter in the event of an emergency (such as a fire or short circuit), preventing the current from flowing back and causing further damage. The isolators thus enable rescue and firefighting operations to be carried out safely, as the system is de-energized.
Modern fire isolators can be operated manually or automatically and are compatible with both residential and commercial solar installations. They are typically designed to be IP65 or higher, making them suitable for outdoor use. Choosing the right isolator increases system safety and is often a mandatory requirement for new installations or expansions.
