Product description
The Fronius Tauro Precombined series of industrial inverters offers an efficient and cost-effective solution for large-scale solar systems. Available in the 50–100 kW power range, the devices are specifically designed for large projects where fast installation, flexible design and low operating costs are key considerations.
The series is available in four versions:
- Fronius Tauro 50-3-P – 50 kW, 3 MPPT, for flexible system design.
- Fronius Tauro ECO 50-3-P – 50 kW, 1 MPPT, cost-effective solution for smaller industrial systems.
- Fronius Tauro ECO 99-3-P – 99 kW, optimized for larger projects.
- Fronius Tauro ECO 100-3-P – 100 kW, maximum power model for large-scale systems.
The robust double-walled housing and active cooling allow the inverter to operate at full capacity even in extreme temperature conditions. In the Precombined design, the AC and DC connections as well as the surge protection are already integrated at the factory, so fewer additional components and cabling are required.
The advantage of the modular design is that during servicing, only the faulty power module needs to be replaced, not the entire inverter. This results in faster maintenance and lower costs. And intelligent control and communication options – such as Fronius Solar.web, Ethernet and Modbus – ensure simple monitoring and integration.
- 50–100 kW models for industrial systems
- Precombined design: pre-integrated AC/DC connections and surge protection
- Active cooling and double-walled housing for long-lasting operation
- Tauro (3 MPPT) for flexible planning, Tauro ECO (1 MPPT) for cost-effectiveness
- Modular servicing – only the power module needs to be replaced
- Intelligent communication: Ethernet, Modbus, Solar API
The Fronius Tauro Precombined series is the ideal choice for all large systems where durability, economy and ease of installation are the most important aspects.

How do I choose the right inverter?
How do I choose the right inverter?
When choosing an inverter, it is worth considering the power of the solar panels, their voltage range, the number of phases in the system (single- or three-phase), and whether you plan to expand with batteries in the future.
In the case of three-phase systems, a distinction must be made between symmetrical and asymmetrical inverters. The symmetrical type distributes the power equally across all three phases, which is an advantageous solution for simpler networks. The asymmetrical inverter, on the other hand, can regulate the power differently per phase, thus adapting more flexibly to the real consumption pattern of the house - for this reason it is usually the more practical and efficient choice for domestic systems.
When is it worth choosing a hybrid inverter?
When is it worth choosing a hybrid inverter?
It is worth choosing a hybrid inverter if you want to expand the system with battery energy storage in the future or if you want to provide the house with protection against power outages.
Hybrid models are more expensive, but offer a more flexible solution in the long term, as they can be easily integrated into the existing system later.
What happens in the event of a power outage?
What happens in the event of a power outage?
During a power outage, traditional grid-fed inverters automatically shut down to prevent power from being fed back into the utility grid for safety reasons.
Hybrid inverters, on the other hand, can operate in stand-alone, so-called backup mode, if a battery is also connected to the system. In this case, the inverter disconnects itself from the grid and uses the energy stored in the battery to continue supplying designated consumers in the house, such as lighting, a refrigerator or a router. As soon as the grid voltage returns, the inverter automatically returns to normal operation and begins recharging the battery.
What warranty does the inverter have?
What warranty does the inverter have?
The warranty is typically 5-10 years, depending on the manufacturer and model. Some manufacturers also offer extended warranties with registration. The exact duration is listed on each product page, so it's worth checking before purchasing.
What happens if the inverter fails?
What happens if the inverter fails?
As a first step, it is always recommended to diagnose the fault, because often the problem is not related to the inverter, but to the settings or the communication module.
If there is an actual failure, the distributor or manufacturer's service partner will assist with the repair or replacement process, within or beyond warranty.
