Product description
Product description
Fronius Reserva is a high-voltage, DC-coupled energy storage system that has been specially developed for use with Fronius hybrid inverters. The system is based on the manufacturer's own lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology and offers outstanding data security and service support in addition to European manufacturing quality.
Available versions:
- Fronius Reserva – 6.3 kWh (2 modules)
- Fronius Reserva – 9.5 kWh (3 modules)
- Fronius Reserva – 12.6 kWh (4 modules)
- Fronius Reserva – 15.8 kWh (5 modules)
The Reserva series is modular, meaning that you can combine 2-5 battery modules to create the desired capacity. Each module can be expanded in parallel, connecting up to 4 battery towers, allowing for larger systems.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells provide stable and safe energy storage with a lifespan of over 6,000 charge cycles. The system connects to the Fronius hybrid inverter via RS485 communication and stores energy directly on the DC side, thus avoiding AC/DC conversion losses.
Reserva batteries are IP65 rated, allowing them to be installed both indoors and in protected outdoor environments. The compact housing design, measuring 772 mm wide and only 176 mm deep, provides a wall-mountable and maintenance-free solution. The system has an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +55 °C, allowing reliable operation even in extreme environmental conditions.

How do I choose the right battery?
How do I choose the right battery?
The most important thing is that the battery fits your inverter and the performance of your system. It is worth considering how much capacity (kWh) you need and whether you want to expand the system later.
Always check the inverter's technical data sheet, as it will tell you which batteries it is compatible with. For example, Huawei inverters only work with Huawei batteries, while Deye inverters can be connected to multiple manufacturers, offering a more flexible solution.
How do inverter types differ?
How do inverter types differ?
The lifespan of modern lithium batteries is usually 10–15 years, depending on usage and temperature conditions.
Manufacturers typically give an expected lifespan of 6,000–8,000 charging cycles – this can mean up to a decade and a half, assuming one cycle per day.
What happens in the event of a power outage?
What happens in the event of a power outage?
If the inverter supports backup (stand-alone) operation, it will automatically switch to the battery during a power outage, so the most important consumers continue to operate.
It is important to know that if there is no backup function, the system will completely stop in the event of a power outage, even if the solar panels are producing. This is because most on-grid inverters cannot operate without mains voltage for safety reasons, so they cannot supply power or charge batteries.
What warranty does the battery have?
What warranty does the battery have?
Depending on the manufacturer, batteries come with a 5 or 10 year warranty, and for some models this is also tied to the number of cycles. We indicate the exact warranty period on each product page, so you can always see how long the manufacturer's warranty lasts before you buy.
What happens if the battery fails?
What happens if the battery fails?
If the battery is not working properly, it is a good idea to first have the problem diagnosed by a professional to rule out incorrect setup or installation. It is possible that the problem is not with the battery itself, but with a non-activated function or communication setting.
If it is proven that there is indeed a problem with the product, you should contact the manufacturer's or distributor's customer service, who will assist you in the troubleshooting process and the warranty administration process.
